- Inherent FR fiber required: Meta-aramid (Nomex equivalent), modacrylic blends, or FR-treated cotton — FR is engineered in, not sprayed on
- Certification audit trail: Every PO ships with NFPA 2112 / EN 11612 third-party test reports tied to the specific fabric lot
- FR-compatible decoration: Embroidery thread must be FR-rated; standard polyester thread melts under arc-flash and worsens burns
- Hi-vis option layered on FR: Many upstream programs need both FR and hi-vis (EN ISO 11612 + EN ISO 20471 combination)
- Arc-flash rating disclosure: HRC 2 (8.7 cal/cm²) is the standard floor; HRC 3 / HRC 4 for substation work
- No metal trims near fabric: All zippers brass or coated, no exposed metal that could conduct or arc

Production volume and timeline
FR programs run on longer lead times than standard workwear due to FR fabric availability and test report turnaround. Typical lead time is 50-70 days from confirmed PO including FR fabric procurement, sampling, production, pre-shipment AQL 2.5 inspection and third-party FR test report finalization.
